Very versatile delay! A classic delay that can be used for sweet soloing or ambient cleans. The controls really let you hone in a great sound. Tap would be much easier but this pedal is a great must have even if you don’t use delays. The easy learning curve and simplicity allows you hours of playing with different settings.

I put this up against a Malekko Echo and this one stayed. The Malekko had modulation but wasn't what I had hoped for. I do prefer the repeats on the Donner though.

Incredible Delay
I really love this delay. Simple to use and with a great analogic sound. This is now sitting in my pedalboard for a year. The sound is warm but not muddy and there is plenty of delay time for most users.

The Yellow Fall Analog Delay pedal provides me with noise free delay options. I have added it to my effects loop of my amplifier. The different combinations of echo, feedback and time settings provide me with unique results to enhance the sound that I am seeking in the songs I am playing. I now have a tremendous variety of effects for rock and blues now that the Yellow Fail has joined my Donner FUSH-DRIVE White Tube Overdrive Distortion and Ultimate Compression pedals on my pedal board, which I have setup as preamp. The Donner pedals are durable and the electronics are of high quality with clear tones. They have proved to be a real enhancement on my pedal board.

I was never even asked what type of power source I was using. I'm using an industry standard power all device with center negative and it STILL DOESN'T WORK.

Did a "Pepsi Challenge" with both of my expensive delays, and it keot up with them perfectly. Quiet, good clicker switch, easy to dial in you faves. I'm gonna buy a 2nd maybe a 3rd so they're all preset for different times and repeats. This little bastard will do slap back, all the way to self oscillations. I LOVE THIS PEDAL. At this price, 600 ms. Delay time, you'd have to be insane mot to try it.

That's a fair assessment! This pedal sounds amazing. The tone surpasses even some fancy $200 delays for my needs! The Space Echo COSM pedal sounded lifeless and contrived when compared to the wmooth of Donner!
Feature set is sadly a bit sparse. There is no tap tempo or expression pedal so this isnt ideal for playing live with others. I wished for clock synchro too... maybe in a bigger pedal.
The pedal is built around a CD2399GP, which is a chinese delay chip fashioned after classic "bucket brigade" analog sampling delay circuits, but actually takes 24 bit digital samples and creates the delay signal using 44kbits of RAM.
Everything else is analog, even the delay frequency is controlled by a voltage. This gives that smooth crazy pitch shift when changing the delay time. It is a bit different here because you get some faint bitcrusher aliasing noise in there too.
The chip has a low pass filter followed by a compressor before the sampler. There is another lpf at the end. LPF2 can be used to output the signal, but i believe Donner feeds the delay back into the input lpf, and uses the output of lpf 1 as the output of the delay pedal.
This keeps part of the pedal's analog all the way to the pedal output and makes a nice signal degrade on the delay.
All of this filtering, feedback and compression is quite a bit like an old analog chip delay works.
At the end of the day, it is digital sampling, but 24bit/44.1 khz sampling makes for much higher dynamic range and frequency response than any of 80s or 90s delay chips.
Modern analog delays such as the Deluxe Memory Boy outclass the Donner, but surprisingly not by much.

The pedal is fantastic. Quite possibly my favorite of the six Donner pedals I own so far. There are a nice range of different delay effects you can produce using the three controls. It sounds great. The pedal is quiet and doesn't color the tone at all - just produces a nice analogue delay. It is, of course, solidly built like all Donner pedals. You cannot go wrong for the price. Great value.

I was looking for a small, simple analog delay to "hide" inside the cabinet of my amp for some Rockabilly slap back. I reviewed dang near every delay on the market--from the top to the bottom--and honestly, they're all largely the same. The Yellow Fall functions just as well as pedals 3-4- and 5x the price, plus with it's tiny footprint, it fit the bill better than anything else on the market. It's transparent, so it doesn't flavor your amp at all (which was another muat for me). Built like a tank, so should stand the test of time. It has a permanent home in the back of my amp.

I bought the Echo Square(blue). The 'mix, knob is flaky. When turned all the way counter-clockwise is off...good. as you add mix, slowly turning mix knob..it jumps in at about 50% with just the slightest turn. I only need about 20% mix. Can't be done. A little disappointed. Maybe it's just this particular box. Or sounds great just limited. Good day.

If you look at the Dark Mouse page my review has this same picture. I bought the Yellow Fall as a cheap delay pedal and it has stayed on my board among the higher priced ones. I've stopped looking for delays since this one knocks it out of the park. You can get the short 'drippy' delay or the longer U2/Edge delays. I also like to crank the knobs and get it started self oscillating then dial the knob to make some crazy sounds. This one is a mainstay. Went from 'cheap' pedal to 'most bang for the buck' pedal. The Yellow Fall and the Dark Mouse not two of my favorite Donner pedals... they are two of my overall favorite pedals.

Surprised by this little guy. I run a pretty hefty rig and through a vox ac30h2/fender 65twin this thing sounds great! Doesn’t colour my tone AT ALL. Just repeats the note I hit, and it sounds pretty analog from what I can tell. Expected it to be “meh” for the price, but I’m definitely glad I didn’t spend 200+ on another delay. Interested to try some other donner pedals if they’re all as good as this one.

I've never owned a delay pedal before so I can't comment on the Yellow Fall compared to other delay pedals or the pros and cons of analog vs. digital. That said, this pedal was so inexpensive that it was a no-brainer purchase. I like things simple and this pedal is intuitive with a large enough breadth of sounds and delay times to satisfy me. As with the other Donner pedals I own (Dark Mouse and Beltway Looper), the quality is great and as a bedroom guitar player, I can't imagine that I'll have any issues with it.

Best Pedal Value Out There
This pedal sounds so good. The self-oscillation can be compared to the outro to Radiohead's "Karma Police." But just using it for normal guitar delay applications, it's on point. It's got a legit PT2399 chip in it. It's also built really well.

It's a very excellent delay... digital but warm, you can obtain up to 0.825 seconds delays...The only con, if you turn up the feedback knob over 75% (3 o'clock), the number of the repetitions tends to get infinite (but you can in case use this thing as an effect if you wish)

After reading several reviews on the Donner Yellow Fall echo pedal I decided to buy one. Wow! It is better than I imagined. It works great and the sound is exactly what I was looking for. I have owned MXR Carbon Copy pedals that I got rid of because I did not like them. I currently have a Catalinbread Bella Epoch echo pedal that I like. The Yellow Fall is a great match with my Bella Epoch. The cost difference of $30 compared to $200 blows my mind. Of course, the Bella Epoch is a more complex pedal, and I want that sometimes. Sometimes, I just want straight up excellent echo which the Yellow Fall delivers with perfection. What I really love is the combination of the two, with the Yellow Fall feeding the Bella Epoch. The results are out of this world!

Small Pedal, Heavy Duty
I ordered this on a whim and surprisingly coming from China (to Canada) it arrived within a couple of weeks. The pedal is weighty as it's a metal box (not plastic) and while it's a small footprint on my pedal board, it suits my needs perfectly. Activating the pedal gives me a nice tactile "crunch" which tells me that it's activated without looking (if I am looking the Yellow Fall has a bright LED light). I use another model compressor and it doesn't have that "click" and I definitely miss it, so I appreciate the Yellow Fall having it. I don't use that much delay throughout an evening, so it's easy for me to fiddle with the admittedly small F. Back and Echo buttons on the face to get what I require. The delay is clean sounding and is true bypass when I have it off. If you are looking for an inexpensive delay pedal to fill out your sound, you will have zero regrets adding this to your arsenal. I highly recommend it.
On a side note, I was so impressed with the quality and sound of the Yellow Fall, I ordered a Tuner pedal. Unfortunately the pedal seems to be lost in a postal depot somewhere (Donner provides tracking numbers), but the customer service at Donner is exemplary. They respond within 24 hours and are very helpful. It's also Christmas so the mail is a little nuts right now. I'm definitely thinking of their Power Supply now...maybe I should order one soon as the prices are insane. Check Youtube for review videos and you won't be disappointed!

First delay I've had that isn't part of my amp and it's great! With only three straightforward knobs it's very easy to use, and I enjoy making spaceship noises with it. I do wish it had the option for tap-tempo, but at this price you cannot complain. A great starter delay perfectly good enough to keep using even if you're not a starter and just need a basic delay.
